Second round at Dubai Creek – María Velázquez moves up to second place at the Melia Golf Challenge in DubaiThe player from Golf Las Américas, María Velázquez, has moved up to second place in both the scratch and ladies’ handicap rankings, finishing the second round on +4 [60 stableford points R1 28 + R2 32, Hcp 1]
The course also hosts a DP World Tour event, the Dubai Invitational, which was won by Tommy Fleetwood last year.
After her round, María shared her thoughts on the day: “To be honest, the course felt a lot easier today – it is a more commercial course. But the highlight of my day was meeting a true legend and global sporting icon, Roger Federer. I also met Mohamed, who sends his regards to Javier Toll, Álvaro Hernández and his father. He’s a good friend of all three and is also playing in this tournament”. 
“I’m really happy with the experience I’m living and the opportunity to play on such world-class courses. And, of course, with today’s result, which keeps me fighting for the top spots on the leaderboard.”
