Lá Fhéile Pádraig (Irish) is a cultural and religious celebration held on 17 March in honor of the foremost patron saint of Ireland. It's the National Holiday in this country that commemorates the arrival of Christianity in Ireland in the early 17th century.
Also Saint Patrick's Day is a public holiday in Northern Ireland, the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador (for provincial government employees), and the British Overseas Territory of Montserrat. It is also widely celebrated by the Irish diaspora around the world, especially in the United Kingdom, Canada, United States, Brazil, Argentina, Australia, and New Zealand. Saint Patrick's Day is celebrated in more countries than any other national festival.

We want to join this celebration in our golf course. Golf Las Américas launches a new campaign about National Holiday. Last 6th of December we celebrated the Independence Day of Finland and the celebration of its centenary. This week we would like to celebrate the Irish National Day. That's why we have raised the Irish Tricolour this morning.

All the Irish players who book online this week with the promo code IRELAND for next month (April) and low season (May to September) will have a 15% OFF on green fees. Only booking opnline this week (from today until this Sunday). Also we will invite to Irish players who book online for this Saturday with the promo code IRELAND to enjoy an appetizer in the Restaurant terrace.

The golf proshop is ready with golf articles on sales to celebrate the Irelan National Holiday Week to all the players who visit us.

Just a short while ago (6 weeks to be exact) the greenkeeper and his staff began removing the 17th green.

The process of enlarging the green by doubling it's original size.

Golf Las Américas has once again been named by Deportes & Business as the best course in Spain in the organisation of golf tournaments. The prize which over the last 2 years has been awarded to La Reserva de Sotogrande and La Sella was presented to Golf Las Americas at the annual lunch hosted by D & B.

How highly is Tenerife golf regarded among golfing experts? The answer is clearly very highly, the recent election of Irelands’ North and West Coast Links as European Golf Destination for 2011 by International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO) was a close run thing and right there in the chasing pack of five runners up was Tenerife. The prestigious award is voted for by 1,200 golf industry representatives and was announced at the International Golf Travel Market annual conference run by Reed Exhibitions in Valencia.
