Since 2000, Golf Las Américas has hosted many National and International golf tournaments. The club received the honour of been voted the best golf course for tournament organisation in 2007,2008 & 2009 & 2011 by the company Deporte & Business who manage and organise Professional and Amateur tournaments throughout Spain.

The Spanish Ladies Open which formed part of the 2012 calendar of the Professional Ladies European Tour (LET) was held for the 1st time in the Canary Islands and was celebrated at Golf Las Américas from the 20th to the 23th September. In the tournament 126 of the top European professionals from the order of merit participated. Players Carlota Ciganda, Laura Davies, Nikki Garrett, Trish Johnson and the 2011 Tenerife Ladies Matchplay winner Becky Brewerton were just a few of the well-known players who participated. The tournament was won by Stacey Keating from Australia who closed her final round with a two under par 70 to come from a stroke behind Caroline Masson from Germany and tie on nine under par. She then birdied the first extra hole in a sudden death play-off to win the tournament.
