A hoopoe at Golf Las Américas [by Pablo Olabe]

We are lucky to be able to observe this nice and striking bird, which does not go unnoticed Unmistakable-looking bird, also known as Apupu or Tabobo. It shows on its head a striking crest, of ocher color and with black tips, which it usually deploys when perching, when it is restless or during courtship.

The Hoopoe is insectivorous, it feeds mainly on the larvae and pupae of insects that it looks for directly with the beak in the ground. His singing is a characteristic up-pu-pu-pu, serious and long-range, which has given rise to his Latin name (Upupa).

Bird present all year, with reproduction confirmed according to the status of the Canary Ornithological Society (SOC).

Golf Las Américas Academy coach David Bosa PGA attended this week the PGA Spain seminar given by the coaches Andy Plummer y Andreas Kali at the Centro Nacional de Golf (Madrid)

DAVID BOSA: "My attendance to Andy Plummer and Andreas Kali seminars has been an unbelievable experience. As a coach, it has been mind-blowing to know how Andy Plummer has been applying the methodology of Stack & tilt along his 40 years coaching experience, with legends like Mike Weird, Aaron Baddeley...

Andreas Kali also applies the system ST, he is chief in the best junior academy in Europe helping junior golf. The academy is challenging, structured, effective with one goal, making champion golfers. What has called my attention was his philosophy, it’s not about perfection, it’s about effort, that’s where the transformation happens.

I will apply some of the factors mentioned in this unforgettable experience to help me as my golf methodology as developing golf juniors at the Golf Las Americas Academy".
