Grey Heron, regular winter migrant at Golf Las Américas. Photo by Pablo Olabe
Golf Las Americas joins the celebration of the World Wildlife Day / World Nature Day today, March 3. We would also like to join the celebration of other environmental awareness days in 2020: World Environment Day, World Oceans Day, World Day to combat Desertification and Drought and World Tree Day.
In this photo taken yesterday afternoon at Golf Las Americas by our naturalist Pablo Olabe, we can see the Grey Heron, a large bird with a stylized figure, long neck and grayish general color, with a variable design according to the age and season of the year.
The species is widely distributed throughout the Palearctic, where the subspecies cinerea breeds in most of Europe, Asia and Africa.
