Together we can beat the air pollution
Golf Las Americas joins the celebration of the World Environment Day (WED). Every year there is a new main focus for WED. This year the focus is ‘Beat the air pollution’ (efforts to reduce air pollution).
We would like to join the celebration of other environmental awareness days in June: World Oceans Day (this Saturday), World Day to combat Desertification and Drought (next 17th of June) and World Tree Day (next 28th of June).
World Environment Day (also unofficially called Eco Day or Environment Day) is an environmental awareness day, run by the United Nations. The aim of the Day is to raise awareness of the environment and specific environmental issues. WED was established in 1972 but first held in 1974, which shows that concern about the environment goes back several decades at least. 143 countries take part in WED, and the day focuses on environmental concerns ranging from pollution to global warming and sustainable food production to protection of wildlife.
