Golf Las Américas has once again been named by Deportes & Business as the best course in Spain in the organisation of golf tournaments. The prize which over the last 2 years has been awarded to La Reserva de Sotogrande and La Sella was presented to Golf Las Americas at the annual lunch hosted by D & B.
This prize is presented by D & B at the end of each year to the golf course that best meets their criteria for tournament organisation. Amongst some of the factors which they consider are care of sponsors, golf course preparation and condition and professionalism of the staff. The team from D & B hosted a lunch "Cooking by D & B" last week to present the award. The restaurant Guipúzcoa in "Casa del Campo" hosted the lunch and prize giving cermony where Joan Piferrer, director from Golf Las Américas was presented with the recognitation by Iñigo Aramburu and Alicia Garrido the directors from D & B. Alicia Garrido in presenting the award to Golf Las Américas mentioned some of the qualities which made Golf Las Américas the winner in 2011 for the fourth time. She went on to say that "It is surely not a coincidence that during these difficult times in the industry that Golf Las Américas is breaking records with the number green fees sales they have made during the month of November even breaking previous records set in 2003. Iñigo Aramburu also mentioned that "the work philosophy which predominates at Golf Las Américas works perfectly with our own idology" and he thinks that this work practice will help in overcoming these difficult times. Joan Piferrer after receiving the trophy commented "that to host an event organised by Deporte & Business is relatively easy and its a pleasure to work with such professional tournament organisers" This award which is now in it's 7th year has previously been won by Golf Las Américas in 2006, 2007 and 2008. The club hosted in June 2011 the Ladies European Tour (LET) event the Tenerife Ladies Match Play.
